owner and teacher for native English speaking children
I was born, raised and educated in the UK. I am a registered primary school teacher and my qualifications include an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education and a Master's Degree in Special Educational Needs. I have full CRB clearance to work with children and have accreditation from the Swiss Authorities (EDK) to teach all the primary curriculum subjects (excluding German) in Switzerland. Copies of all qualifications, documentation, and references are available if required.
I have taught for a total of seventeen years in a mainstream and special school in England, for the prestigious English Schools Foundation (ESF) group of International schools in Hong Kong and also at Lakeside Bilingual School in Horgen, Zürich.
On a personal level, I am the mother of two children who are now fluent and enthusiastic readers and writers! Since 2008 I have invested considerable time, energy and resources into establishing and teaching at Links to Literacy and it is something I am very passionate about. I am excited to be teaching children to read and write because that is where much of my expertise, experience, and enthusiasm lie. I believe that learning to read and write is truly magical!
teacher for non-native English speaking children
I was born and raised near Oxford in the UK and qualified as a Primary School Teacher in London. My background includes a degree in Zoology with Spanish from Manchester University; a Postgraduate qualification from the Oxford School of Drama, followed by a number of years working as a professional actress throughout the UK; and a PGCE teaching qualification from The Institute of Education in London. My teaching career since then has all been at international schools, including The Fulham Bilingual school in London, which is co-run by the Lycée Français, and the International School of Hamburg in Germany. I moved to Switzerland in 2016 and briefly worked as a substitute teacher at Zurich International School before the birth of my son. I am looking forward to joining Links to Literacy and returning to teaching again.
